Happy Yorkshire Day to my fellow Tykes :D

Everyday I am proud to be born and bred in Yorkshire - God's own country.

Has anybody got anything special planned today to celebrate?

For those lessor mortals not born here, today is Yorkshire Day because of the Battle of Minden where Yorkshire trounced the Frenchies, and also the anniversary of the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire in 1834 for which a local Yorkshire Lad, William Wilberforce, had campaigned.

In other news, it was confirmed this week that Yorkshire people are the most British of anywhere in the UK! :D

Well we can be a bit boastful :p But we are friendly in the main (unless you are from Lancashire ;))

And remember we were born in God's own country so if you weren't then already we are superior to you :P
