harassed by... the parish council?!

A few months ago we decided to build a summer house in our garden - a very small timber structure. It needed planning permission and somewhat to our surprise the Parish Council (basically this lady) put in a huge effort in objecting / complaining about our application. Without even talking to us they made a long-winded objection, citing personal information, inaccurate details of our existing home, the proposal we're making - just trying anything to get our application rejected. All of what she's saying is inaccurate, but also contains some personal info that we're not happy having been made public.
If it's very small why did you need PP, conservation area?

Interested what personal information and accusations have been made against you in the objection, you gonna share the gory details?

Why does a “small” summer house require permission? Assume it would fall under permitted development rights?

Anyway, the solution is clearly to hire a hitman.

You need to contact the District Council - its a breach of code of conduct.

(My Mum is on the Parish Council and guess what...handles the planning applications :p )

Are we about to have a forum battle??

Reminds me of stories i have heard about Home Owners Associations in the US.

This wouldn't even make it into the footnotes of the history of HOA insanity. Threatening eviction over lawn length being a few mm out or a fence not being painted regularly enough.

No punchline to the joke, very boring.

Find her letterbox and insert poop.
Or.
Poop, attach stamp and put in pillar box.

Yeah you are probably right, some of the stories i have heard are insane. Heard one a little while ago about someone having to borrow a work truck as the guys car was totalled while he was out on a job for work and it was the only way he could get home. It was on his drive overnight and he was hit with fine after fine after fine. Another one that apparently is quite frequent is the HOA about garages not being left open during the daytime.. Can you imagine that in the UK?

Apply for PP, if you don't get it, get a building lawyer to send their reasons why it should be built and send the Parish Council a cease and desist citing harassment.
