i have recently upgraded my pc, and then i find out one of my old hard disk random stoped working after a few restart and testing the new rig. it is not detected by bios and it just stop spinning.

i check the cables and tried using a different port and cable, but no difference. then i tried it on another computer and i hear a clicking noise. i managed to boot into windows once, so i thought, oh sweet i still got a chance to back up everything. so i turned it off plugged in my other hard disk, but i got the same problem again and now it doesnt even spin. so i guess the data is still there but i cant even turn it on.

i dont get what is the problem aside from the obvious physical failure. but i have done nothing to it and there was no warning and i didnt even move it. so is there anything i could do? i heard you can send it to a pro to recover for you, but i also heard its not 100% and will cost lots.

the model is samsung spinpoint f3, the computer reads it as samsung hd103sj scsi disc device

i dont get it. i didnt do anything to it physically and there are no signs or warning of decay. it was just sit and stopped working for no reason.

i can hear clicking sound and it powers down after a while. will replacing the pcb helps or is it really super done and all i can do is let it rest in peace.
