Hard Disk failure :(

My friend's hard disk seems to have failed. I've plugged into a external enclosure and the screen says F: and nothing by it. I could see a few folders then they took for ever to copy. Is this how a failure would presnet itself or should I try something else.

Very poor read times are a possibly indicator of failure.
Did you try looking at the SMART data for the drive?

if it smells and quacks like dying then it is dying yes

I forgot to mention it's a HP All in one computer. I plugging a HP laptop disk into enclosure and was unable to read anything I thing that's what's odd about them.

Download CrystalDiskInfo.
