Hard Disk Noise!

I have my computer right next to me on my left and there is a humming noise coming from the hard disks. If I place my computer to the right, there is no humming noise. I have 3 regular 7200rpm HDD's and an SSD inside an Antec one case.

Any way I can eliminate this? I kinda want to keep the computer on the left side of my desk. Also, why can't I hear it on the right side?

Urgh this is frustrating.

I know this may sound really stupid but on the left hand side of the desk the Pc might
be at a slight tilt which might cause the HDD spindle to make a funny noise.

You could try putting something under the feet of the case on 1 side and see if it makes
the sound better if not try it on the other side instead and see if it makes the noise better,
if so then you have got your answer.

Hmm, unfortunately that didn't help. Its not that putting it to my right eliminates the sound, it's that I can barely hear it from the case's left panel, its when the case's right panel is near me that I can hear it. Maybe I need to find some way of better securing my hard disks.

Or then some new hard disks? These are all pretty old ones. I guess new ones run quiet in comparison to these couple of year olds.

Do something like this. Best thing I ever did to silence a hard drive.

It's really surprising how much vibration is transferred into your case from a hard disk.
