Hard disk problem, help!

Just finished my build and installed ssd and everything is fine.. but when i plugged in my Western digital 500gb second hard drive it is not being recognized as a system disk, i can see it in rapid storage technology but it doesnt allow me to access it, any thoughts?

Also as i type this (on my laptop) the system has frozen twice and then turned off! now im worried!

No, brand new, cant see it in my comp, can see is named as disk 1 in disk management, but it says unallocated and i have no option to format?

Dont worry got it, had to click create simple volume and then format. Cheers though
