Hi guys, just require some information...

Im thinking of buying a new pc...but not sure if its better to get RAID 0/1 or non-RAID. What are your views?

Also if i find i dont like the RAID configuration, can i convert back to having 2 seperate drives without any RAID?

Thanks! :)

I went for RAID 1 as I dont like the idea of loosing my data, also it gives a seek performance gain. RAID 0 I think increases the chance you will lose your data, and if one drive failes you lose all your data - however it is noticable faster.

If you decide you dont want to keep the RAID array you can unmount them from the array in the raid bios - RAID 0 you will lose all your data, RAID 1.. I am not so sure - best wait for someone else to reply about that one.

A car with 4 tyres, and a motorbike with 2 tyres, you have 2x as much chance of getting a puncture with the car same as having HDD's in RAID0 means 2 devices to fail instead of 1 and as data is on both you lose all but I have never had any data loss with Raid0 and that inc crashing PC when Im messing with overclocking etc.
