My 500gig Hard drive on my HTPC has become very noisey the last couple of days and today when I turned it on and it spun up it was making a high pitched screaching noise. It then settled down but is still louder than it should be. Now correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like the bearings???
Now I am assuming that failure is probable and reasonably soon so looking to copy everything over to another hard drive so that I don't need to go through the hassle of another Vista install. At the moment I have it partitioned into 1x20gig and have Vista on this and the other 480gig partition is for my music and tv recordings etc. What is the best program to use for a complete hard drive copy as this seems the easiest way to do things?
Was thinking of getting a 750gig drive and doing a 20gig partition for Vista and just copying over the operating system first then I can move my files over and if it fails during this at least I will have the operating system already done
Help Appreachiated!!!
