I have been compiling a wish list for a new system now. I'm pretty much sorted inmost areas but am having trouble deciding on hard drives. Is it better to go for a smaller higher speed drive for my OS to run on or, in this day and age, is it ok to run the 1, 1.5 or even 2 gig drives without loosing performance. The rest of the system I want is all high end stuff. All advice most welcome:D

Ideally a SSD would be great for a standard OS install.
And a Samsung F3 1TB for the rest.

Obviously depends on budget, windows 7 is only about 7-11gb once stripped down.
So only a small drive would be needed.

Seriously though is there a dramatic difference in speeds ... I mean will there be a problem in a high end system ...
Asus p6t d
core i7 9 ..
6 gi ram
gtx 2 ..
I know for a gaming machne the fastest everything is the way to go be it overclocked or not ... but say a Western Digital caviar black ... seems like a good hdd ... but would that be too slow in the performance stakes?
