was wondering is there anything around that i can put my raptor in to cool it better and also make it quieter? i got a free 5.25inch drive bay avialable.

theres a verry nice watercooling block that wraps around the hdd.

but if on air there are some products that blow air onto hdd.

may i ask what are your hdd temps?

my solution is to lay both my disks chip-side-up on the bottom of my case(super lanboy) resting on a double layer of thin foam(like from your motherboard box) and just let the intake fan blow over them.

my temps are 22c(mostly idle running OS) and 38c(running torrents)

also this is not ideal if you intent to move you case to other places, but it works very well, and its very very quiet, i cant even hear the seeks

(signature pc spec way out of date btw)

my raptor temps went to 40c running hdtune error scan.

That's nothing to be concerned about. Raptors will run warm simply because of the high spindle speed, anything below 55C is fine.
