Hi there,

I have an Hitachi hard drive and i used their tool to test it and it said that the drive was corrupt.

How do i make sure that the hard drive isnt broken.

I have been told to eraze the hard drive and then do anything test and check if it is still corrupt then?

Is this correct....is there a better method?

Thanks...

Download the dos utility program from Hitachi's website and create a floppy boot disk. Insert the disc in the drive and reboot. The best bet is to then carry out a Low-Level format of the drive which will completely wipe it and restore it to factory defaults. (Normal or quick formats do not do this)

Hi there,

Yeah, I know to do that, but I just wanted to know if there is a way i can test if the hard drive is actually broken, so I can buy a new one and stop this happening again.

Thanks...
