i have a 250gb sata drive which has started to perform badly (even tho it was bought at the start of the year, and i have only used it for 2/3 months now.

i do have a crappy 80GB which i use for music and media etc.

for those who know about half stroking / quater stroking methods...
shall i buy a large 300/400GB drive for programs / games and storeage and keep the 250 strictly for OS only, or do i partition my current drive so i keep my OS quater stroked or probs less than with about 80GB, and put the rest of the programs i use least on the other half (this will decrease the seak time of the drive by 75% thus making it much quicker) and buy a smaller 250GB for games that i use most etc?
