Hi,
A little while ago my hard drive power cable came loose from my computer, I must have banged the pc or something with my chair, so I had a look instead and I think the company that'd sold it to me had given me a pc with a broken power connector to the SATA hard drive anyways.
So I pulled it back in, booted up and it did its check on the hard drive before it gets into windows, checking for errors. Problem I've got is, it does it every single time I boot my PC up now. I've replaced the dodgy power lead now with a brand new one but its still doing this scan every time before it'll go into windows.
Any ideas how to stop it and why it may be doing it ? All my data's fine, and don't have any probs otherwise, its just a pain in the butt.
Cheers,
Storm
