Hard drive dying?

Hi guys,

have recently started having a problem with a 6 month old build...basically whenever i boot my comp for the first time it will boot fine and things will run ok for about 10 mins, then whatever im doing the comp will freeze up and bsod, reboot and second time (sometimes) booting will take longer than usual and end up with some message asking for a boot device to be installed (something to that effect).

then if i reboot again windows will load as normal and i can use my comp for hours! Now i have been googling the error code from the bsod and consensus seems to be a dodgy hdd.

basically i was wondering if anyone had seem something similar before?

First stop is the manufacturer's own diagnostics for the disk, there are links to all the major ones in the sticky. Download the appropriate one and run it, make sure you do a surface scan and not just a quick diagnostic.
