I've just replaced a hard drive that started ticking and i presumed failed. It was a Seagate Barracuda GT 7200.11 that came standard with my OCUK 'Ultima' pc. It would appear in Bios then disappear. I bought a new Samsung Spinpoint 1TB to replace it afterwards but only installed it today, and the same thing has happened! It began ticking and appearing in Bios intermittently. I never managed to even format it.
Is this a hard disk failure out of the box, or is it likely something else in the pc could be causing this.
I have 2 other drives in the system that are working fine.
Switched the sata and power cables with the other slave drive, but it didn't solve the issue.
Any Advice?
