I bhought a new pc in december and ive upgraded it with new gfx card, psu, case and fans etc. but i have had the same problem ever since the day i bought it with my Hard Drive.
Every time i start up it will freeze 1-5 times and after that it will be fine, ive spoken to many people about this and most people said to check my hard drive.
So i did all of the CHKDSK scans and other windows scans which all turned out no problems, then i used seagate tools for windows and it failed long and short DST tests.
i spoke to the manufacturer and they said send this one back andill get a new one but i had no way of backing up all my files so i couldnt do that.
I'm now deciding wether or not to buy a new hard drive and just put all my files onto there then reinstall windows 7 and use that.But i dont want to spend £40 on a new hard drive for the same problem to persist.

Q8300 core 2 quad 2.5ghz
4GB RAM 800mhz
nvidia 9400gt
corsair 750w
stock 500gb hard drive
foxconn g31mx motherboard
i am thinking of getting a samsung spinpoint F3 500GB
