Hi guys seem to be having problems with my hard drive.
HGST 500gb 2.5 sata drive.
Was fitted in my Macbook but failed on me, so i have removed it and installed another hard drive. Decided to run various tests with it plugged into my external housing and ran a complete scan using drive genius 3. This came up with no errors.
But when i go to drive information it shows this.
Display Name: UNTITLED 1
BSD Name: disk1s1
Drive Title: APPLE HD D HTS547550A9E38 Media
S.M.A.R.T.: The S.M.A.R.T. service is not supported by this disk.

Formatted As: MSDOS (FAT)

Now it says BSD major 1
BSD minor 5
So if these are in fact faulty sectors or what not why does it not show these in the scan?
Also the drive is hit or miss whether its found on disk utility when it was inside the Macbook.
Any way of fixing this or is it for the bin, thanks.
