Hard Drive for Music

I was looking to buy a hard drive for storing my music on, as my external drive is too slow. I have Sata motherboard.

i have 50gb of music, but id like to have a 160gb, as they are only a few quid more, and my music libary will continue to grow.

i'd like the drive to be quiet, fast and secure (so i do not loose any of my music)

i was looking at the Samsung SpinPoint S 160GB and the Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 160GB, any help welcome, thanks

How big is your external drive? Is it a SATA drive? You could buy a cheap SATA external caddy for it and use that.

is a USB 320GB Elements (WD) drive

Hmm I am not sure how you can tell what drive is inside it, can you open it easilly (are there screws to open it up)?

i checked on the hard drive properties, its a WD 320AAJ, but i dont intend to use the external drive. i wish to buya new internal drive to store the music on, and just use the external for backing up
