hard drive for nf7-s

i have a 4 year old abit nf7-s which is still going strong

i want to know if a 500gb ide or sata hard drive will be recognised by this mobo

NF7-S should have 2 SATA ports..

here. i think NF7-S should have..

NF7-S is a legendary mobo with the on-board Soundstorm audio. though i've never used it before..

^^^ yes it's the version 2.0 with 2 x ide and 2x sata ports

just need to know if the mobo will recognise larger drives i.e. 500gb

last question

if i get the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache would it be simple case of plugging it into the 2nd sata port and away i go?

btw i will be using it to back up data to an existing system (which has a 120gb sata in port 1)

Pretty much, you'll need to create and format a partition using Disk Management but other than that it should just be plug in and go.
