hard drive for xp/2000pro

Hi , i am looking to buy a hard drive that will work on my laptop , needs to work with windows 2000 pro and xp pro also has to be usb and doesnt really matter what capacity and price dont mind paying for goog quality( to a degree) any recommendations i would be grateful thanks

Reading between the lines you want an external hard drive here? Do you care much about the size? If you do then something like the WD Passport drives looks pretty decent.

Yes sorry to be a little vague, will the Western digital work on usb 1.0 and usb 2.0 as one machine with 2000 pro i think is usb 1.0 and the new machine is usb 2.0

USB2.0 is designed to be backwards compatible but I'm not about to guarantee that your machine won't play up just for the sake of it.
