Hi guys,
I'm having a bit of trouble with one of my internal HDDs. Basically I use it as a media drive and it works fine when playing data back from the drive. However, if I try to download something to the drive it fails.
For example, I tried transferring some of the music off my laptop to this drive via the home network (wireless). To begin with it works fine and windows reports it will take ~5mins, about 30% of the way through the transfer speed will drop right down to almost negligible. The I will get an error saying 'the destination drive cannot be found'.
If I go to my computer, the drive is still there. But there is no bar underneath it saying capacity etc. Like it shows and ejected drive that you have yet to unplug. About 10mins later windows AutoPlay pops up as if the drive has just been plugged in.
Any ideas? Could it be that the drive has just given up and needs replacing?
Cheers

Edit: Just tried moving the data to another drive. Get the same errors. I'm now thinking it could be the motherboard?

Hmm, I've now realised it I limit the transfer speed everything works fine! (limited to 1000kbps)
Not entierly sure why/what is causing the error. But hey. Atleast I have a work around :)
