Hi, just wondered what type of screws are used to mount a hard drive to the case?
Are they taptite type machine screws? What dimensions are they?
Unfortunately i can't just remove one from my hard drive to have a look because they were wrong in the first place!
Don't want to risk them being to long either - i'd imagine that could be a bit nasty!
Many thanks.

They are 6-32 UNC screws. Thats quite a coarse thread. Its the same ones that are used on most cases.
They only need to be approx 5mm in length. You usually get loads with a pc case. It wont go into the hard drive as its sealed, but too much force will strip the thread as its only aluminium

Whats taptite?

If the screws are too long they could short the controller board on the hard drive, so watch that as well :)
