Hello. I have a 5 tb seagate I formatted in Windows 8.1. Now I wish to switch the drive back into its caddy but when I do windows wants to format the drive before use (can't see the gpt partition) . Any way I can get windows to see this drive and it's data without having to pop it back in a system on a sata connection?

Thanks

i would try formating the drive plugged into the motherboard......then move to caddy...if this doesnt work...

try to format in caddy but if you dont see full size...then i think you have a hard limit in your caddy...
