Hi, I am looking at buying a couple of hard drives to run in Raid 0. Can anyone tell me what the best bang per buck drives are? I will use the drives just for loading my operating system. Would I really notice a big difference of a single 80gb SATA drive? What about 2mb v 8mb cache?

I dont know a lot about hard drives so please go easy on me. :)

BTW. My system specs are as follows:

Windows XP
[email protected]
4gb OCZ 6400 memory
ASUS P5B Deluxe
XFX 8800 GTS
Audigy 2
2 x Maxtor 200gb SATA drives
SATA dual layer DVD writer

You 100% don't want 2MB cache drives.

Best bang per buck drives = usually around 320GB-500GB at the moment.
Why not simply buy a new 500GB drive and use the two 200GB you have in a RAID0 to test it out?
