Hey all,
I have a 400gb 7200.10 seagate.
I am just wondering what the seek noise is like for people out there with similar drives.
Is the HDD noise far greater than anything else in the system.
I have 9 120mm fans runing and all they produce is a very soft whirr that is barely noticable.
The HDD however makes a lot of noise, it sounds like a gyger counter going crazy.
The drive seems to spin with no noise but its when its reading or writing the sound is just unbareable. I cant watch downloaded content as the sound is so loud.

What im wondering is if this is normal and if it is what is the best way to silence it?

I found that every seagate drive ive had has been very noisy.

Just sent one 200gb drive back as it died on me, but has 10yr warranty.

Maxtor's have been the same for me, now i have a samsung 250gb and thats not off to a good start either.

Hard drive is the noisiest thing in my case at the mo
