Hard Drive Not Showing?

Hi all,

Recently installed a new hard drive (number 2) and althoug it shows in BIOS + device manager its not being displayed in My Computer.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Read the above wrong.

You need to go into Disk Management (right click on My Computer and pick Manage). The new drive will appear in the window as being unallocated, you need to right click on the unallocated space and pick New Partition, the defaults are OK but click the "quick format" checkbox. Once this is all complete the drive will show as formatted and "Healthy" at which point it will show in My Computer.

Doing that now - thanks rpstewart.

I knew I had to formatt it but I thought it would have been displayed anyway. Should be ok now though.

Control panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.

You have to partition and format it before you can see it in my computer.
