Hard drive not working

Hi,
I have a ide hard drive that used to work fine, but since a couple of days ago the computer can't read from it. Windows just doesn't see it there. I've checked it isplugged in. Is there anything i can do?

Is it detected by the system BIOS at boot?

When you power up the PC does it spin up? Put your hand on it, you should be able to feel it spinning.
