Hi,
I have two Western Digital HDDs. A 160GB and a 80GB. These are Sata 2.
These are running off an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe.
Now I was running off ports one (160GB C:\) and two (80GB) but when booting one day I got comfronted by "BOOT ERROR INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER".
My 80Gb was reconised but the 160Gb wasn't. After many restarts and swaping leads back and forth etc... they then worked again till it happened a while after (weeks/ months) and I then ran off Sata ports two and three. This then ran fine untill today.
Now after swapping cables about again and making sure they were all plugged in to which they were its not booted again and both drives are working.
It only seems to happen to the 160Gb. Is this on its way out? It's only a year and a few months old.
Is it likely to be the boot disc or does it sound like connection problems? I don't move any wires between it working and then one day going wrong.
Its located (like to the 80Gb) in front of the 120mm intake. Could dust be a problem?
Anyway who thinks I should by a new hard drive then?
Timmins.
