Hard drive problem

2 days ago i started my new pc for the first time
And i noticed that the hard drive is pretty noisy
It seems to always make a slight 'knocking' noise
I need clarification on this

And also, if for some reason i need to change my hard drive would my windows 7 be screwed

I used an OEM windows 7, i believe this means that is it linked to the motherboard, not the hard drive. Would i be able to just install it on the new drive?

Im just really confused right now :confused:

I believe it is a seagate drive, 1 tb at 7200 rpm

And no i havent could you let me know what piece of software to get?

And i also just researched that it could be a firmware issue of the drive, i could update the firmware and apparently that could solve the problem

Do you reckon that this could be the case ??

Have you heard personnally of the seagate barracuda drives being loud and noisy ?

Well for me, its my first build, so i wouldnt have nothing to compare... DAMN

Ill have a look at doing that update and i will try out seatools and ill get back to you
