Hard Drive Problems Installing XP

I've been trying to install Windows XP on a new system which has a Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA-II hard drive and Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2 motherboard. The hard drive is connected through SATA with no jumper over pin 5 & 6 so it's SATA-2. The hard drive is recognised in the BIOS.

When I try and install XP it starts up, does all the hardware checks and then when after I choose to install it brings up a message saying that no hard drive is recognised.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
