Ok so i bought a 200GB Western Digital hard drive of the 'bay. For some reason i couldn't get it to run in slave along side my 80GB Maxtor. And now my XP doesn't even start up but thankfully Vista is still working.
I ran the Western Digital Diagnostic test and it failed the Raw Read Error Rate part of the test. Does this mean that the hard drive is a defect?

Also there is a pretty loud high pitched whine coming from the hard drive. Does this contribute to my problems?
