Hard drive question

You can get boxes that connect bare HDs to USB. We have one at work that cost less than £25 and it came with connectors for 3.5", 2.5", and SATA drives with an external power unit with a molex adaptor. Very handy, especially when you might want to troubleshoot many HDs and don't have the time to open cases.
Other than that, you can get IDE cables that convert from 3.5" mobo sockets to the 2.5" IDE pins on the back of the drive, and also many places do external caddies for 2.5" HDs that are convenient in that the drive takes it's power from the USB port.
