Hard Drive Reccomendation

Depends what you want? Low cost, reliable, high performance, large capacity, some combination of those? WD do make good hard drives, but so do Samsung and Seagate.

Need more info... :)

The WD "Greens", Samsung "EcoGreens" etc (all 5xxx rpm) HDDs should only really be used for storage and not as a HDD to boot from and run an OS on, for that you want at least a 7200 rpm HDD, or better still an SSD...

Well in terms of cost, I would rather not spend a huge amount bit am willing to go to about £50. Need around 320/500 so... Suggestions! :)

jbloggs: I have just been told the EcoGreens are not very good etc so look at the blue or black series WD do, thanks for the info as well mate :)

something like the WD black 500GB 32mb cache?

Thanks for the help all, jbloggs think I am going to go with the WD Caviar Black 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache.
