Hard Drive Reccomendations

OK sorry i posted this thread before but i found out my mobo is not Serial ATA-2 compatible. im looking into getting a 200GB Serial ATA-1 Drive but i am unsure what to get. can any one make any suggestions at all??

Have currently got a Maxtor 160 GIG Sata 2 HDD and it's fine, I know your mobo doesnt have sata 2 but I honestly don't think Maxtor are all that bad. I also have 2 x samsung drives, 1 is a 160 gig and the other 120 gig, and also a Western Digital 120 gig drive aswell.

Out of all the drives I've got the Western Digitals have been the least reliable.

If your after the fastest then get a IBM/Hitachi (3 year Warranty)
If your after a storage Hd then get a Seagate (5 Year Warranty)

Read my sticky on SATA-II at the top of this forum (HDU). You might as well buy a SATA-II drive anyway.

yeah i realised the sata 2 was backwards compatible so i decided to get the WD200GB anyway. also i dont think speed is essential for me. its just for storing my music, movies and artwork
