Hi
I am preparing to replace my old failing hard drive with one that is double the capacity.
I have the xp cd and key. I also have a back up of all files on usb drive.
How do I make sure that all of my drive is recognised and is there any software that you ocuker's would recommend as being safe that will make the whole proces 'Like a walk in the park' or will xp be adequate.
I tried one from 'THE LIST' but my anitvirus had a hissy fit.........
I also do not have the capability to record onto a disc, therefore would not be able to use any bootable software.
Basically, I need software to use before or after hard drive installation to ensure all goes well.................
Your assistance is quite urgently required, as my hdd grinds a little more as each day passes.
I keep hearing about fdisk, but do not have a clue, so will resaearch this next.
