What can I find out from my hard drive serial number?

I was only asking because I want to get a new hard drive and wondered if it would give me information I need in buying a new one? It is not working properly, I think it is failing

I don’t know much about hard drives I wasn’t sure if needed or can find out information about the hard drive in getting a suitable replacement. My first post was way to vague, sorry for that.
