Am I right that windows has problems with large size drives? I thought I had heard somewhere that there can be certain problems. I have just had a new 250 Samsung drive that causes bootup prblems with my system. Even with the drive forced to sata1 (which is all I have) when connected my machine will freeze on bootup for about 40 seconds before booting into windows. If I disconnect it the machine is fine, reconnect and it freezes at bootup (just as the blue bar begins to scroll).

Has anyone had this problem? I thought I had heard something about issues with drives over 130 ish gb??????

This drive has just come back from RMA as no fault found so it must be a compatibility issue - help please.

can't help much sorry, only thing i can say is i believe the issues your talking about (with drives over 130GB... i think its something like 128GB actually) is to do with windows XP (pre service pack 2) and them being reported as the wrong size... not to do with boot problems.
