Does this mean I have another space for a third HD in my laptop?

I doubt it, most likely it's just an unused sata connector on the motherboard. What laptop is it?

It’s a Msi ge72 mvr, I was wanting to swap out my 1tb to a to 2tb and thought If there was a space I could just get another 1tb.
There’s no optical drive so maybe it’s that?

If you google image search for internal pictures of your model, it's a bit confusing as it depends on what exact ge72 you have I think. In some of the pics, it looks like there is a place for an optical drive where you could fit an additional one in yes. Whip the back off and have a look.

I opened and had a look there was a spare space but the m.2 already installed would be in the way.......

Bought a 2tb firecudda HD,installed it, turned on my laptop and it doesn’t show in windows explorer?
It shows 2 storage drives in device manager though!

Anyone help?

Edit. Changed the drive letter it now shows up
