This is probably the stoopidest question ever but...

I need a drive for storage of my rapidly increasing movies/music/tv shows.. I will be streaming to my xbmc via homeplug over the weekend when i set it up... Question is - will a drive say 5400rpm or intellipoint be ok to stream to the htpc??? ie will the drive be fast enough for output??... Or should i go with a 7200rpm?? (Looking at 2tb drive and the cheaper ones are 5400 etc..)

Like i say silly question but i would rather ask and look silly than not ask at all.. :D

Cheers :)

5400 will be fine

I've got a IDE drive in my old xbox using xbmc and it streams across fine

if anything be more worried about your network connection

Nice one.. cheers... As for the network, i am running two 85mps homeplugs as the router is downstairs and my pc is upstairs. Had no issues so far and will wait to see how the hd content streams. I may have to invest in some 200mps homeplugs but i am hoping the current ones are up to it! ;)

Nice one peeps! :D
