One of my SATA-II drives turns off on occasion (hear it spin down) and after clicking through my drives folders, I found that one drive pauses briefly while accessing a file, then I hear the drive spin up again before the file is then brought up. I'm using a molex too, so it's not really hot-swappable, yet the drive continues to function fine after the spin down.

Connection problem or possibly a Vista option that turns HDD's off after a while of inactivity? :D

Have you got your power management settings in Windows set to turn off the hard-drives? Nothing wrong with doing that mind, as long as it's not a small amount of time like 5 minutes or something.

There I was joking about Vista turning off HDD's. I guess it's normal nowadays, even if i'm still using molex connectors on my HD's.

I had HD's turned off after 20mins. :)

Thanks for the heads up TheVoice.
