Hard Drive Stress Tester

Im after a stress tester, something like memtest, prime95 etc but for hard drives.

Not sure if its what your looking for, but you could check out 'HD tune'.

HD Tune is just a benchmark not a stress tester.

I found a 300gb HD on my shelf which I think I may have taken out of an old pc to upgrade to a 500gb (when I only had space for two drives). Its also possible its broken, it appears to work but I want to make sure before I put my data on it.

Prime95 tests the cpu to failing point
memtest tests the ram to failing point
Just want to do that with a hard drive... surely im not the first? But there is not a lot out there.

Just out of interest, why would you want to stress test a HDD?

If you think it is faulty you need to run the manufacturer's diagnostic utility on it.

I have run WD Diag and Scandisk both come back ok, so it looks like it was removed due to lack of space.
