Hard Drive Upgrade

I am currently using a 80gb 2.5in 5400rpm HDD from an old laptop for Windows 7 and a couple of programs and the rest of my stuff is on a 250gb Xbox HDD. Obviously this is pretty slow for booting up, opening up programs, searching the hard drive and browsing through folders.

So I was gonna buy a 1TB HDD and a 60 or 120GB SSD.

But would just a HDD upgrade give me a decent speed increase to be able to not bother with an SSD for a bit longer?

Thanks.

A proper HDD would definetley be useful as speed is determined by space left on the HDD and the disk speed. 5400 being too slow as a boot drive. I own a 500GB 7200 HDD and its fast enough for me. Significantly faster than my laptop HDD.

A SSD would definetley speed things up but it should be regarded more a luxury when you dont want or need to upgrade anything else.
