Hard Drive with OS installed?

Hey guys i remember seeing a while back that over clockers sold hard drive with OS ( windows 7 ) pre installed.

Now my friends looking to do a new build ( his first ) with me helping him and remembering overclockers did this at some point looked on the site but couldn't find it.

any one know what happened? if they are still able to get some ? as i remember the saving was rather nice.

Not sure that would actually work, normally the OS is installed after the hard drive is connected to the PC to insure that it is configured correctly with the hardware that will be used.

They sold them as a bundle, it wasn't actually installed on the HDD.

Since the Thailand floods and the prices of HDDs are gone to stupid places they have stopped offering the bundles.

If you want to keep an eye out for them they were under software - > software bundles.

But I wouldn't expect their return whilst the HDD prices are still high.

You may be confusing the ability to purchase an OEM copy of Windows along with hardware. I doubt the OS was pre-installed.
