hard drive wrekt?

today for no reason my secondary hd is going boobs up

first it was like freezing pc, then when I reboot windows always asks to check for conssistancies so i let it then it happens again

so i tried removing files from it and it keeps locking computer up for odd few seconds then it goes back to normal

now my hdd just totally disappeared from my computer and its all connnected right i checked

any ideas

Can you shift it into an external caddy or plug it into a different SATA / IDE slot ? just to be sure that isnt the problem.

I gave it a little clean as it were full of dust, reconnected it found the drive again.. so I saved what I could and formatted it. Hopefully functions okay now
