Transferred pretty much all of my data from a 250gb hard drive, to a different 250gb hard drive.

Turned the computer on today and it makes a kind of clicking noise and windows won't recognize it, it's found in bios etc... just not in windows.

Its a Hitachi Deskstar 250gb Sata 2

Is it dead? :(

Also, i can't use there diagnostic tool because i only have a USB keyboard, so i can't use it lol

Yay i fixed it, i swapped over a cable with the other 250gb hdd, i put it from windows scan disk about 4 times and it finally read it and all my data is in tact.

Have it all backed up but would mean a lot of hassle.

All my drives are working now and are all using the existing cables.

Was quite a few corrupted areas but now it seems fine, for now? Will it remain fine? lol

i'm copying everything across now.

Is it worth then formatting the drive so it's a fresh drive or should i just RMA it?

Yeah i found that option thanks.

Run the fitness tool and it came up with an error which reads it to be faulty.

Just waiting on an email reply from Hitachi.

Thanks for all your help :)
