Hard Drives load up on Safety Remove Hardware

On my new PC my two Sata drives load up on the safety remove hardware at start up on the taskbar (bottom right) and was wondering if that was normal? It never happened with my old PC.

that doesnt appear to be normal.
normally its USB type of stuff that appears in that.

my SATA never comes up in that safely remove hardware.
Something to do with Drivers?

It is perfectly normal for some implementations of SATA, it depends on how your motherboard manufacturer has implemented the SATA controllers but it is nothing to worry about.

OK thanks. I usually only get it with USB devices, as you mentioned Photoshop, but this seemed just plain weird to me. I usually get it with iPods, cameras, etc..

one of my machines does it but the other doesnt so agreed that its just down to the controller!
