Lo All,
I have been reading over this site quite a bit since I joined up and it seems quite common for people to be advised to move over to the Samsung F3 hard drive when spec'ing a new build.

I personally have always used Seagate - I pretty much live and die by them and to date (touch wood) have never had a problem with them.

I tend to steer away from Maxtor and WD as personally I have had bad experiences. But have used Samsung hard drives at work and they seem very quite, and reliability seems fair also.

So really I'm just after thoughts, opinions and reasons.

Not looking to start a Hard drive war! Lol.

I can't really pass judgment on the f3's however I have an f1 which is quiet, reliable and relatively fast I think. I presume that the f3's will be better and are held in high regard.

The F1 I believe is the better drive and have always found it be the quietest drive out of the both though both are reliable when Ive used them.
