Hard Reset Extended Editon

Thats great news. It seemed to be taking forever for the DLC to hit Steam. Really enjoyed what I played of the original version, so looking forward to this excuse to give it more of a go.

Its good content the 5 month delay was because of Kalypso Media selling a retail version including the DLC but retail DVD was not a Steamworks title just standalone with no online DRM.

The DLC now makes the full game a reasonable length & this is still a basic but excellent 1990's era FPS. Shoot reload hit switches. Basic gameplay but so easy to pick up & play & along with Alan Wake this is the best DX9 game engine :D

I initially had buyers remorse when I bought it in the Christmas sale but it really grew on me and the new content is great value. I'm awful at this game on Hard setting though!

same here and im very impressed by it so far! visuals are great and i do like the older school gameplay. levelling up and getting different guns etc has gotten old for me!!

Absolutely! :)

Sometimes, what I would like most from a developer is an enormous amount of levels (like with Doom), plenty of loot and atmospheric music. I wouldn't want for much else. :)

For some reason, my Hard Rest was set to not download updates in Steam:confused: I changed it to always update, and the DLC started downloading.

Just completed Exile, bit disappointing really (ignoring the fact it was free, of course!). Didn't really offer anything new other than the opportunity to extend my game and get a couple of extra guns. The checkpoints are annoying (erratic pacing - on the first level I think there there were a couple of sections with two tough fights against badass charging things, annoying when you win one fight but die in the second and have to go back to the start. Putting a checkpoint just before an upgrade terminal is also pretty dumb IMO as it means if you die you have to re-do your upgrade before continuing - would be better placed just after it. In terms of length the first level took me about 1hr but the rest were 15-25mins, total time to play through maybe 2.5hrs. Final boss also seemed incredibly easy compared to boss fights in the full game and indeed wasn't even as tough as some 'standard' fights in the first level of Exile, given that there is health and ammo scattered everywhere and he is pretty easy to take down with railgun.
