Hard Reset Redux (serious graphical downgrade!)

After looking some more, it's more obvious on the images on the reddit link, the the links AWPC posted doesn't show much difference.

It's like some of the lighting has basically been turned off.

People saying there aint much difference, wrong, original version is so much more detailed, less blurry, easy to see.

I've watched that candyland youtube comparison, and the key bit people haven't mentioned is that the framerate has more than doubled, at the cost of only a 'moderate' graphical downgrade. I'd say that that is quite a good trade off! But they needed to have added options to increase the graphics quality further rather than keep the graphics the same but improve the engine (or whatever they did).

I would say more than moderate - in some areas it isn't as noticeable but in others the lighting is very flat once you notice it and then you can't unsee it.

FPS was never a problem its a DX9 based title!! They have messed the volumetric lighting up so much it looks a fraction as nice as before.

Should be a free upgrade on PC even then I doubt many existing owners would bother as the visual difference is noticeable. Its all about getting it cutdown to run on the consoles!

Those volumetric lighting god rays take a lot of CPU/GPU power to calculate is the real reason its been downgraded as consoles lack the required rendering power.

Damn, I was looking forward to this. Those lighting effect changes are unforgivable. Also looks like someone tripped and dropped the vasaline on it.

Loving that steam thread, the dev's in there trying hard to defend it.
Fact is they just did a console rehash.
