Hi Guys,

I have a Samsung Hard Drive (Normal HDD HD103UJ) and if i want to create a new Folder , I right click and click New Folder , However for the folder to appear im having to Refresh the window for it to appear

This also Happened when i delete stuff , Once i delete it - Its still there - I'm having to Refresh the window and its gone then

It Also does this when copying Files to the Drive

Does anyone know what this could be? and how to fix it ?

is there any software I can test the drive with?

Do you have a network drive mapped?

This used to happen when you have a network connection to a server/computer that isn't available

Can also try sfc /scannow in cmd

You can also attempt to delete the desktop.ini (may have to show operating system files first, will be located on your desktop, surprisingly) then restart.

Yes I Have an External HDD on my network - This isn't always Switched on thought :)

Theres 2 Desktop.ini Files on my Desktop.

Do i delete them both and restart?

Contents of both of these Files,

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21799

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183

Try removing the mapped network drive and see if it works after that, could be due to that.

If the unmapping doesn't work then try deleting both of those and restarting.
